The Los Angeles Lakers are “engaging in serious talks” with free agent point guard George Hill, ESPN reported Monday. The Lakers reportedly see Hill playing along side rookie Lonzo Ball.
Los Angeles hopes it can leverage a one-year deal for Hill because of the shrinking market. Hill could use the one-year deal to get his legs under him and possibly receive more value on the open market in 2018.
Even more interesting is the notion that Hill played with Paul George in Indiana for five seasons. George apparently has his sights set on joining the Lakers in 2018.
