A goal in the 20th minute of the Confederations Cup from Lars Stindl was all Germany needed to top Chile in the final on Sunday.

Stindl’s goal was his third of the tournament. The goal and a key Marc-Andre ter Stegen save in the first five minutes of the match was huge for the Germans to overtake Chile.

Chile missed a ton of goals that should have been scored. Arturo Vidal and Eduardo missed some key chances, which turned out to be devastating.

Germany now builds a ton of momentum a little over a year before the 2018 World Cup. Chile will be denied a major international title for the first time in two years.
