The Golden State Warriors and two-time MVP Stephen Curry reportedly agreed to the richest contract in NBA history Friday night.
Curry agreed to sign a five-year, $201 million deal with the Warriors, ESPN reported. It is the most the Warriors can give him and it will lock him for the remainder of his prime NBA years.
According to the report, Curry will make $34.7 million in the first year of his new five-year deal. He was coming up to the end of a four-year, $44 million contract.
Curry’s eliteness has certainly been set in stone with this deal and is continued greatness showed season after season has earned him the right to be considered one of the NBA’s top performers. The deal is nice on the surface right now, but may have to be restructured if the team is set on keeping its super team status with Kevin Durant, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson.
