The NBA offseason chaos is not officially supposed to begin until 12:01 a.m. ET on Saturday. However, it did not stop the Oklahoma City Thunder from making one of the shrewdest moves of the offseason thus far.
The Thunder acquired Paul George from the Indiana Pacers for Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis, The Vertical reported Friday. The report added that the trade does not include any draft picks.
It is the culmination of months of trade talks. Everyone thought George would have gone to the Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics or Los Angeles Lakers, but instead he lands with the Thunder where he can team with Russell Westbrook.
George averaged 18.1 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists seven seasons with the Pacers.
