The New York Knicks are really a mess. The team still does not have a president of basketball operations and Steve Mills has been locked in a cage for so long that he may not know how the league is or if he is even allowed to make a deal.

With that being said, ESPN reported Friday that the team still has interest in bringing back Derrick Rose.

It would only make sense if New York could sign Rose at a discounted price. There will not be the distraction of Phil Jackson anymore, but it is unclear how much that would have an affect on Rose.

Rose had his best season in years in 2016-17. He averaged 18.0 points and 4.4 assists in 64 games. However, his season was still cut short due to injuries. That will also play a factor with any team trying to sign him this offseason.
