The Los Angeles Clippers are among the teams meeting with San Antonio Spurs restricted free agent Jonathon Simmons, The Vertical reported Friday.
Simmons is also meeting with the Sacramento Kings, Chicago Bulls and Minnesota Timberwolves. Any offer sheet that Simmons is signed to will be able to be matched by the San Antonio Spurs, which gave Simmons a qualifying offer prior to free agency opening.
Simmons averaged 6.2 points and 2.1 rebounds in 78 games. He was one of the diamond in the rough players the Spurs picked up and signed to the D-League. He really has made his presence known to the club and losing him may hurt the team in the end.
