Leading up to Friday, it did not feel like the Los Angeles Clippers were going to be able to retain Blake Griffin this time around.

However, USA Today reported that Griffin has canceled his meetings with other teams with the intent of signing a five-year, max contract with the Clippers. He had been linked to the Phoenix Suns, Denver Nuggets and Miami Heat.

The deal could be worth up to $175 million or $172 million depending on the salary cap.

The Los Angeles Times reported that Griffin was met with a bevy of teammates. Jamal Crawford, DeAndre Jordan, Patrick Beverley, Wes Johnson and Sam Dekker were in the meeting to court Griffin back to Los Angeles.
