The New York Knicks separation from Phil Jackson was a long time coming. It was widely reported in the New York tabloids the rift between Jackson and Carmelo Anthony and the latest report about the final few days of Jackson’s tenure.

The New York Post reported Thursday that Anthony was extremely upset over the rumor that Jackson was looking to trade Kristaps Porzingis and “chewed him out” over it. Knicks officials reportedly thought Anthony’s influence on Porzingis had become detrimental and why Jackson was really looking to get rid of the up and coming superstar.

A source told the newspaper the Jackson thought Anthony was “trying to sabotage him.”

There’s going to be more about their relationship coming out in the next couple of weeks. Everyone knew it was tumultuous, but the paranoia is something that is coming out Thursday.
