The Winnipeg Jets have reached out to goalkeeper Steve Mason about joining the team, the Winnipeg Sun reported Tuesday.

Mason, formerly of the Philadelphia Flyers, had spent the last two seasons as a backup to Michael Neuvirth. He just got out of a three-year deal with the Flyers worth about $12 million annually.

Mason may be the backup to Brian Elliott next season. But, according to the newspaper, Mason has other teams interested in him.
