The Dallas Mavericks will reportedly decline Dirk Nowitzki‘s $25 million option with plans to re-sign him to a new deal. According to ESPN on Sunday, the Mavericks plan to work out a two-year deal with the future hall of famer. The salary cap is expected to go up and the Mavericks want to make sure it has enough resources to go after big-name free agents. Should he re-sign with Dallas, Nowitzki will be the second player to spend 20 seasons with one team. He has averaged 21.7 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists through 18 seasons in Dallas. Last year, he shot 43 percent in 54 games.
