The Los Angeles Lakers are minutes away from going on the clock with the No. 2 selection of the NBA Draft. The feeling is that the Lakers will choose UCLA guard Lonzo Ball with that pick, but anything could happen up until that time.

Basketball Insiders noted earlier Thursday the Lakers were not dead set on taking Ball. The team was reportedly still debating whether to choose De’Aaron Fox at No. 2. The report noted that it is not uncommon for a team to be noncommittal about a pick leading up to the draft.

Ball and the Ball family believe the Lakers will take him at No. 2. The UCLA kid has had his eye on the purple and gold since leaving the Bruins at the end of his NCAA Tournament run.

The Lakers also traded D’Angelo Russell to the Brooklyn Nets earlier this week, which makes it more likely Ball does end up going to LA.
