New York Yankees legend Derek Jeter will not have his partner, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, to attempt to buy the Miami Marlins.
Bush pulled out of his group, the Associated Press reported. There was no reason given. The report said Jeter could look to join another ownership group.
“Gov. Bush has great respect for Derek Jeter, and Derek remains a great friend,” a source told the Associated Press. “And he’s looking forward to a great rest of the season for the Marlins.”
The Bush-Jeter group and the Tagg Romney group both bid about $1.3 billion for the team.
