Always Dreaming, ridden by jockey John Velazquez, won the 143rd Kentucky Derby on Saturday. Velazquez pulled out the win on a muddy track. The horse has a 9-2 chance of winning the race at the gate. The win marks the fifth consecutive year the favorite has won at the derby, the longest such streak since the 1970s. Lookin’ At Lee and Battle of Midway followed Always Dreaming across the finish line. Lookin’ At Lee was at 33-1 odds and Battle of Midway was 40-1 odds. Now it is onto the Preakness in an effort to make a Triple Crown run.
