I did not think the Kansas City Chiefs were going to look to the future so early in the draft. The team must have had Texas Tech quarterback Patrick Mahomes high on the draft board, because the front office took him with the No. 10 pick of the draft Thursday. Mahomes has a huge arm and did well in the air raid offense that Kliff Kingsbury was running in college, but going against him his the SEC pedigree that has not had a good tenure in recent years. Mahomes is not going to be the starter right away, but hopefully he is in a situation where the Chiefs can really hone on his skills and get him ready to be a starter.
