UFC 210 had surprises before, during and even after the main event. Daniel Cormier defeated Anthony Johnson to retain for the light heavyweight title. What Johnson did next was incredibly surprising.

Johnson announced his retirement from the sport.

“I don’t have any excuses, I lost again to the better man,” Johnson said during the post-fight press conference. “This is my last fight, I didn’t want any distractions, but I want to thank you all for being with me.”

Johnson was forced to submit to Cormier and his career seems to be over. He said that he is taking time to focus on a new venture, but he did not reveal any details of what it could be. He did deny it had anything to do with the Los Angeles Rams.
