Washington standout Markelle Fultz is likely going to be the No. 1 pick in the upcoming NBA Draft. He is already talking about the possibility of playing for the New York Knicks and playing at Madison Square Garden for 41 games during a season.
“It would be amazing,” the University of Washington standout said, per the New York Post. “It’s close to home, my family can come out. This is the greatest place to play, really. Big (arena), a lot of good fans. This is a legendary place.”
It is a huge tease for fans and the team which really needs another superstar to compliment the outgoing one in Carmelo Anthony. Fultz got to see the Knicks lose to the Toronto Raptors on Sunday 110-97 — not the best recruiting game.
According to the paper, the Knicks, who are the sixth-worst team in the league, would have a 6 percent chance of getting the top pick. They would really have to lose out next week to even have a chance.
Fultz, though relatively unknown, averaged 23.2 points, 5.9 assists and 5.7 rebounds per game for the Huskies.
