The New York Jets declined a team option on offensive lineman Ryan Clady on Wednesday.

Clady was due a $1 million bonus if he’s still on the roster by Wednesday. Clady was due a non-guaranteed $10 million next season, but it came into jeopardy when he torn his rotator cuff and ended his season early last year.

Clady has been on and off the field because of injuries and it’s hampered his financial situation. Clady is about to turn 31 and will probably have to settle for a lower contract in 2017.
