The Los Angeles Dodgers and free agent second baseman Chase Utley agreed to a one-year deal on Friday, the Los Angeles Times reported.
The terms of the deal haven’t been disclosed.
The move comes as a bit of a surprise since the Dodgers acquired Logan Forsythe from the Tampa Bay Rays last month.
Utley had a reinassance year with the Dodgers in 2016. He played in 138 games, hit .252/.319/.356 with 14 homers and 52 RBI.
