Washington Redskins center Kory Lichtensteiger announced his retirement on Friday.

Lichtensteiger spent eight seasons in the NFL — seven with the Redskins and one with the Denver Broncos.

The 31-year-old played in 94 games over his career. He started the 2016 season as Washington’s starter, but ended up on the injured reserve list during the season and when he came back his spot was already taken by Spencer Long.
