Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry responded to Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank‘s comments about President Donald Trump on Wednesday. Plank praised Trump as an “asset’ to the country in an interview on CNBC.
Curry responded later in an interview with the media.
“I agree with that description, if you remove the ‘et.’”
The two-time reigning MVP isn’t one to talk politics, ever. I don’t remember him ever saying anything on the 2016 campaign or election. It was mostly left up to coach Steve Kerr. But Curry spoke about a brand that he released his first shoes with. He added that Plank working with Trump isn’t a “deal breaker” with him, he’s more concerned about Plank adopting the president’s values.
“It’s a fine line but it’s about how we’re operating,” Curry said. “How inclusive we are, what we stand for. He’s the president. There are going to be people that are tied to them. But are we promoting change? Are we doing things that are going to look out for everybody? And not being so self-serving that it’s only about making money, selling shoes, doing this and that. That’s not the priority. It’s about changing lives. I think we can continue to do that.”
Curry added that he and Plank don’t talk politics and his relationship with Under Armour is strictly business.
