The Los Angeles Rams hired Matt LaFleur as offensive coordinator on Tuesday, ESPN reported.

LaFleur had been the Atlanta Falcons’ quarterback coach for the last two seasons and had a helping hand in shaping the MVP performance of Matt Ryan this year. He was expected to take the Falcons’ offensive coordinator job, but it was filled by Steve Sarkisian at the last minute.

He’s expected to work under Sean McVay, but won’t have immediate play-calling duties. It might take another few years.
