The Atlanta Falcons named the replacement to Kyle Shanhan on Tuesday.

The Falcons said Alabama offensive analyst Steve Sarkisian will take over the offensive coordinator position. The San Francisco 49ers announced Monday that Shanahan would take over their head coaching job.

Sarkisian was previously the head coach for Washington and USC. He was fired from the Trojans job after alleged alcohol abuse issues.

“We love the way that we attack, and it took a lot of work to put that system in place,” Falcons coach Dan Quinn said. “Along with Thomas (Dimitroff), we have a real emphasis now on how we can fit guys into that system. It’s very important that we stay consistent with that.”

Sarkisian will be Matt Ryan’s fourth offensive coordinator since 2011.
