The national media turned up the heat on Los Angeles Chargers defensive end Joey Bosa when he decided to hold out for a better contract. There was even rumbles that he could’ve gone back into the NFL Draft next season, but Saturday he answered all the riff-raff with a Defensive Rookie of the Year award.

Bosa was honored by the Associated Press after recording 10.5 sacks and 29 tackles in 12 games.

Everything that was surrounding Bosa in the beginning of the season is gone. He can now move on to his second season with a lot off of his back. Bosa is going to be a very important player for the Chargers for years to come.
