In the earlier days of President Donald Trump’s presidency, he tapped Florida Panthers owner Vincent Viola to be his Army secretary. That dream has come to a grinding halt.
Viola withdrew his name from consideration on Friday, citing concerns over his businesses. According to the Military Times, Viola won’t be able to skirt Defense Department rules regarding his input into many businesses.
Aside from the Panthers, Viola was the chairman of New York Mercantile Exchange and has his hands in electronic trading.
