USC Football Finishes 3rd In Final AP Rankings

After a riveting national championship where Clemson came back to defeat Alabama 35-31 Monday night, the Associated Press released its final poll and USC finished third in the rankings.

USC won its Rose Bowl game against Penn State and probably could beat Clemson and a tough Alabama team behind freshman Sam Darnold.

The Trojans might have a tougher time succeeding without talented wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster leaving an possibly Adoree Jackson following him to the NFL. It will be interesting where writers will put them once August rolls around.

For what its worth, Washington and Oklahoma rounded out the top five.
