The Minnesota Timberwolves are a young team with a front office led by an impatient coach. Four wins for the Timberwolves isn’t cutting it and they could be looking to trade a young star to get some veteran leadership on their side of the court.

According to Bleacher Report, Tom Thibodeau could be looking to trade for one of the guys he used to coach. Los Angeles Lakers forward Luol Deng could be on the short list of players. The report also mentions Jimmy Butler — who was rumored in the offseason to be on Thibs list of guys — as a potential trade target.

It’s unclear how close Thibodeau is from making a move, but Deng would make sense. Deng is a former Chicago Bulls player who played under Thibodeau for quite some time.

Deng is averaging 6.8 points and 5.5 rebounds in 16 games for Los Angeles this season.
