Both USC and Oregon have a lot riding on their matchup Saturday in Los Angeles. Another win for USC and you could see them back in the top 25 – a long shot, but there’s still hope for the Trojans. A loss for the Ducks could mean the end of the road for Mark Helfrich.
Sam Darnold gets to build on an incredible performance last week against Cal. Darnold and the running game looked very good and building upon that game is incredibly important for the Trojans going forward. It would be nice to see them put up another 45-point spot on the Ducks, but it’s not going to be easy.
Oregon has struggled this season because they don’t have a dynamic player like a LaMichael James or Marcus Mariota to fuel their system. Helfrich will get most of the blame because he only has three wins this year. An Oregon win would help the Ducks jolt back into the bowl conversation. A sixth win for USC almost guarantees them a spot in a bowl game this winter.
