LSU football fired head coach Les Miles and offensive coordinator Cam Cameron on Sunday, according to The Advocate. The move comes after the Tigers, which started out the season No. 5 in the AP preseason poll, dropped to 2-2 with a loss to unranked Auburn. The paper reported that defensive coordinator Ed Orgeron will become the team’s interim head coach presumably for the remainder of the season.

Miles had been on a short leash with LSU ever since last season’s disappointing year. Saturday’s game against Auburn was going to be a loser gets fired game and it does turn out to be Miles. LSU lost earlier this season to Wisconsin and struggled in wings against Jacksonville State and Mississippi State. The firing ends Miles long tenure with the Tigers, which does include a National Championship and two SEC titles.
