Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins was arrested and charged with a DUI on Thursday night in Florida. Seferian-Jenkins was stopped at around 4 a.m. by Florida Highway Patrol, according to the Tampa Bay Times. This is Seferian-Jenkins’ second DUI, the first coming when he was still in college. He seems to be on a short leash in Tampa Bay, after getting kicked out of practice in spring and losing his starting job to Cameron Brate before the start of the season.
According to TMZ Sports, Seferian-Jenkins might have avoided a DUI if he kept his mouth shut. The website reported that police were going to let him off with a warning before he started to talk and slur his speech. “Austin begged the cop to let him go to his QB’s house to watch ‘American Horror Story’ … but the cop shot that down. Once Austin was arrested, he told the cop he needed to take a “huge s***” — the cop begged him not to do it in his brand new squad car.” TMZ Sports has the dashcam footage too.
