The hotly contested 9/11 cleats worn by Tennessee Titans linebacker Avery Williamson is going to do some good.

TMZ Sports reported Tuesday that Williamson’s cleats were auctioned for $6,000. The money will go to Operation Warriors Wishes.

The Nike cleats were spattered with patriotic symbols and the words “Never Forget.” The auction winner also won two tickets to a Titans game and a chance to hang out with Williamson.

All the controversy surrounding the cleats actually did some good and it’s nice to see it happen.
