The New England Patriots quarterback situation is not looking too good so early in the season.
Jimmy Garoppolo started out hot against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. He threw three touchdown passes before halftime. He was clicking until Dolphins linebacker Kiko Alonso hit him and landed on his throwing shoulder.
Jacoby Brissett came in and the offense stalled a bit. The Patriots received worse news after the game.
According to the Boston Herald, Garoppolo could miss up to six weeks. The paper reported that he’s still undergoing tests, but Garoppolo was seen “gasping for air” and in “agony” as he left the field.
Brissett may have hung on for the win, but he’s not the answer to the Patriots’ problems right now. He’s slated to start Thursday night against the Houston Texans and could go as far as Week 4 against the Buffalo Bills should Garoppolo miss six weeks or longer.
