The first week of the NFL season couldn’t have gone worse for the Los Angeles Rams and its defense is already taking another hit before its all important Week 2 game kicks off at the LA Coliseum on Sunday.

According to TMZ Sports, the Los Angeles Attorney’s Office charged Rams safety T.J. McDonald with a non-alcohol related DUI on Friday stemming from a May 10 arrest.

It’s unclear whether McDonald is being accused of driving while using pills or marijuana or some kind of other drug. However, sources told TMZ Sports that they believe it involved medication.

The Rams or the NFL have yet to discipline McDonald. If convicted he could face up six months in jail.
