The New York Giants are already hitting Washington Redskins cornerback Josh Norman for his failure to cover Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown in Washington’s loss Monday night.

Obviously, Norman has already stirred the Giants up with his play against Odell Beckham Jr. last year and with his comments in ESPN The Magazine in the beginning of the season. The Giants are hitting back at Norman after his poor play against Pittsburgh.

Victor Cruz had some choice words about Norman’s play. He told ESPN:

“Especially if he calls himself — I don’t call him this, he calls himself the best corner in the league — then you have to go cover the best receivers on the other team,” Cruz said. “Going in, I thought he was going to follow AB all over the place, but he didn’t. So it is what it is. He made his choice.”

There’s a lot that’s going to go down for the Giants and Redskins before their first matchup on Sept. 24. Norman may have just one bad game or could’ve been Washington’s defensive scheme.

The Giants receivers will have to put their money where their mouth is very soon.
