Stan Wawrinka won his third major title Sunday night, defeating Novak Djokovic at the U.S. Open 6-7 (1), 6-4, 7-5, 6-3 in a riveting final.

Wawrinka wore down the defending champion for his first ever U.S. Open win. The 31-year-old is the oldest U.S. Open champion since Ken Rosewall, 35, won it in 1970, according to ESPN.

Another couple of interesting stats from Wawrinka’s big victory in Flushing.

He now has 11 consecutive tournament finals wins and he’s 3-0 in Grand Slam finals, defeating the No. 1 seed in each of the three matches.
