It was the best finish to the college football this season, but it has been under a lot of scrutiny because the play was never supposed to happen.

The Mid-American Conference suspended the crew that let the Central Michigan and Oklahoma State game finish with a game-winning Hail Mary, lateral.

The Chippewas got the ball after Oklahoma State was called for intentional grounding on fourth down. Central Michigan was never supposed to get the last possession. The game should’ve been over, per the rule book.

Well, that didn’t happen and now those referees will have to sit out two games.
