The Louisville Cardinals got off to a really hot start against the Charlotte 49ers in the first college football game of the season Thursday night.

Cardinals quarterback Lamar Jackson thrust himself into the national spotlight, scoring eight touchdowns in the route and as of this posting the game isn’t even over yet.

Jackson threw for six touchdown passes and rushed for two more before being replaced by Kyle Bolin.

Jackson was 17-for-23 through in the air with 283 passing yards. He also carried the ball 11 times for 119 yards.

Louisville is on their way to their first win of the season.
