Texas Rangers first baseman Prince Fielder‘s playing career could be over. Fox Sports reported that Fielder is expected to announce that he’s been declared “medically disabled” Wednesday after undergoing neck surgery last month.

Though Fielder might not be retiring, Fox Sports noted that his career seems to be in doubt.

The 32-year-old had a second cervical neck fusion surgery that ended his season. In 12 seasons, Fielder has batted .283/.382/.506 with 319 homers and 1,028 RBI.

He spent the early days of his career with the Milwaukee Brewers before signing a nine-year, $214 million with the Detroit Tigers in 2011 before being traded to Texas in 2014.
