The Texas Rangers have expressed interest in Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Matt Moore, according to Fox Sports’ Jon Morosi. However, there was no indication that a trade was near.

Moore has spent six years in the Rays’ organization. In 19 starts, Moore has recorded a 4.33 ERA and has a 5-7 record. However, the Rays have been floundering this season and it might make sense to trade him than picking up a $7 million option next season.

Texas has also inquired about relief pitchers too, but no names other than Moore were mentioned.
