Kevin Durant is going to be highly sought after and teams are already lining up to get a piece of the action. According to Marc Stein of ESPN, the Golden State Warriors are planning to send Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson to meet with Durant to try to pull him to Golden State.
Stein reported the Warriors “increasingly believe” they can bring Durant to Golden State.
The same report says the San Antonio Spurs are sending Greg Popovich and Tim Duncan to try to entice Durant to come to San Antonio and finish his playing career in Texas. The Oklahoma City Thunder are also expected to meet with Durant too.
The Warriors, Spurs and Thunder will have the first crack at Durant.
However, Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical reported that Durant’s representatives “are working to solidify invitations” with the Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Clippers and the Miami Heat. Wojnarowski reported the meetings are scheduled to take place in New York at an undisclosed location.
