The Minnesota Twins will be without closer Glen Perkins for the rest of the season. La Velle Neal of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported that a torn labrum and damage to his rotator cuff problems has cost the rest of Perkins’ season.
Perkins didn’t pitch much this season. He appeared in two game in the beginning of the year, but started experiencing problems in his shoulder. The shoulder problems initially seemed minor but an MRI confirmed the tear and the damage.
In those two games, he allowed two runs on five hits.
