However, Turf Show Times noted a John Clayton ESPN Insider report that says don’t expect Goff until October. Clayton wrote that Jeff Fisher is building a similar type of team he had while coaching the Tennessee Titans and with the quarterback still really not 100 percent set, the Rams might not score as more points per game (17.5) with Goff than they would with Case Keenum.
Clayton cites that as a reason to possibly keep Keenum as the starter for the first half of the season.
The first few weeks of Goff’s NFL career will be on display in HBO’s “Hard Knocks” series. If he should familiarize himself with the offense quickly, there’s no reason why he shouldn’t be the starter come September.
