The Lakers plan to work out at least three more draft prospects in the coming weeks and they’re not really who you’d expect. The Lakers have a chance of losing out on a top three pick next week during the lottery selection, but they still have a 32nd pick and that’s what Los Angeles seems to be focused on right now.
According to SNY, the Lakers will work out Providence forward Ben Bentil, UNLV forward Derrick Jones and Kentucky guard Isaiah Briscoe. Silver Screen & Roll reported that all those prospects are rated on low end of Draft Express.
The targets make sense for the Lakers, but they’re probably not going to be the only prospects that the Lakers bring in for separate workouts. Los Angeles has had some success in the latter part of the draft in recent years. Larry Nance Jr. and Jordan Clarkson were both selected at the end of the first and second rounds in the last two seasons.
