The NBA is moving into a spread-type, run and gun offense much like the Warriors are using. Shooting more jump shots is becoming the new normal and the Lakers will be shown the light.
New head coach Luke Walton plans to bring the Warriors scheme over to the Lakers once he takes over. Walton won 39 games as Warriors interim head coach when Steve Kerr was out with a back injury. General manager Mitch Kupchak told ESPN Los Angeles Friday that the same uptempo scheme is what Los Angeles will implement next season.
Walton is also going to be the main offensive coach and will be looking for an assistant the handle the defensive side of the ball. However, no defensive specialists have been named in his assistant coach search.
