The Dodgers claimed reliever Casey Fien off waivers from the Minnesota Twins Saturday, the Los Angeles Times reported. Fien adds some much needed depth to the bullpen.
The LA Times reported that Fien is expected to make the big league roster right away. However, it isn’t clear whether he will come to Toronto or meet the Dodgers in Los Angeles when their series is over.
Fien has slipped a bit this season. He holds a 7.90 ERA in 13 2/3 innings. He also has a 7.9 SO/9, which is better than what he posted last season with the Twins (5.9).
