The Lakers have been linked to several players over the past couple weeks and the feeling is having Luke Walton could entice a superstar-type to join the team in the offseason. One player who they were possibly interested in might not be on the trade market anymore.
CSN New England reported Saturday that the Chicago Bulls are unlikely to trade away Jimmy Butler, despite rumored reports that they are looking to rid of him after he failed to mix with Fred Hoiberg’s offense in his first season as head coach.
The Bulls are still open to listening to offers on Butler, which signals that he might be off the trade market just for the time being unless the Bulls are blown away by an offer. A source told the station that Chicago is seeking “one legitimate starter” and possibly more.
The Lakers might not have the “legitimate starter” the Bulls are looking for, but if they do secure a Top 3 draft pick there will be teams calling.
