Leading up to the start of the offseason, it was understood that part of the Los Angeles Lakers‘ rebuild was the possibility of attaining a Top 3 draft pick because they had one of the top-three worst records in the league. Now, that might be not so certain.

Colin Cowherd on The Herd Tuesday morning spouted off an interesting rumor, as Lakers Nation noted. Should the Lakers get a lottery pick, and not have to give it to the Philadelphia 76ers, they might not even keep it.

Sources have apparently told Cowherd that the Lakers are looking to trade the possible pick for a superstar who could help them immediately. Lakers Nation floated Jimmy Butler or DeMarcus Cousins who the Lakers could trade the pick for.

Should the Lakers not trade the pick they could be saddled with either Ben Simmons or Brandon Ingram this year. Both players could also help the Lakers immediately.
