The Los Angels Dodgers might skip Ross Stripling‘s next start in order to preserve the rookie’s innings this year. Manager Dave Roberts addressed the idea after the Dodgers 3-2 loss to the Miami Marlins Tuesday night, according to MLB.com.
“We’re thinking, with Ross and his usage,” Roberts said. “That’s something that’s still definitely in its infancy, but there’s some conversations. We’re trying to figure out what’s best for our club.”
Stripling did have Tommy John surgery in 2014 and has an innings limit this year, even though that hasn’t been specified.
The righty has a 3.22 ERA and an 0-1 record in four starts for the Dodgers this year.
