Finding a new head coach is not the only thing the Los Angeles Lakers  have to accomplish this offseason. The Lakers are going to go hard after a top-level free agent, i.e. Kevin Durant. But they do apparently have a backup should Durant not want to come to Los Angeles.

The Sporting News reported Wednesday that two of the Golden State Warriors top free agents could become Lakers targets if Durant passes on Los Angeles.

Harrison Barnes and Festus Ezeli might pass on the Warriors and take a chance on the free agent market.

The 23-year-old Barnes will be looking for a max contract this summer and because he’s still young there might be a chance for him to take on a bigger role on some other team — the Lakers could be that team this summer.

Ezeli has progressed well in a backup center role with the Warriors. However, if he wants to stay in that role than the Warriors are a perfect fit for Ezeli. But he could develop into a starter with the right coach in Los Angeles.
