The Los Angeles Dodgers could be without Scott Van Slyke for another month as he recovers from a back injury he suffered in the second series of the season against the San Francisco Giants, the Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday.

Manager Dave Roberts said before the Dodgers game against the Atlanta Braves that it could be another 2 to 3 weeks that Van Slyke misses before he returns to the roster.

Van Slyke did lobby to return to action, Roberts said. But was placed on the disabled list when the Dodgers returned home for their opener. Luckily, Los Angeles could be getting Carl Crawford back Sunday.
